You hear a horrible grinding, screeching noise.

“I have lost my clock gear,” says Mecha-Snail. His voice sounds like someone emptied a toolbox into a washing machine and chose the spin cycle. “If you find it, I will let you use it for a day. You can do all sorts of things with a clock gear.”

He has finally stopped talking. Thank goodness.
